Let one hour a week surge the meaningfulness felt in your life. Start your story work now.
We all have small moments that touch our hearts in the day. Too often they go unrecognized. The beauty of being a photographer is that we consistently train our brains to see love + beauty all around us.
This Iconic Blog Series submission from Ashley Manley sparked an image in my head of my own life that I will put into an iconic post another day. I hope that this series has the same effect on more people, because we all have room for a little more beauty and joy in our days.
Here’s what Ashley had to say on her photo and why it is iconic to her:
I don’t know when it started, but for as long as I can remember in my 8 year relationship with my now husband, he has made my first cup of coffee. Every. Single. Day. I got this table from an antique store against his wishes because I thought it would be a great place to serve as our personal cafe. He has never admitted it, but I know he is now happy I brought it home. It is where we give hugs, kisses, and say our good mornings.
We embrace the chaos around us and wish we had just a little more time to sleep. It is messy and imperfect but is also safe and warm. On my dream guy check list, ‘makes me coffee’ wasn’t on there. But now that I have it, I can’t imagine my life a single day without this scene.
This photo is iconic to the life and love that we have built. I know whatever happens today, we can figure it out right here tomorrow.
