This Iconic Photo Submission especially hit home with me, because I’ve lost all of my Grandparents already. I was close with all of them and knowing my children will never meet them saddens my heart a bit. When Natalie submitted this photo and story behind it, my perspective changed.
I had never thought of it from Natalie’s point of view. Now, I look forward to the day when my kids do something that evokes a memory of one of my Grandparents. Something, one of my kids do that reminds me of them.

Here’s what Natalie had to say about her photo:
“When I was a little girl I would sit on the sofa with my dad and watch westerns with him. He was way into them. He would tell me who the characters were, who the actors were who played them, and other westerns they were in. He would tell me all about the story lines. This photo is of my oldest child. My son loves the outdoors and it is hard to get him in sometimes. He’d be a street lights come in kind of child if I let him. I love that this photograph reminds me of what my dad was probably like as a child. My father and son are generations apart, but they have same adventurous spirit.”
