Bribing and rewards go hand in hand when you have a potty training toddler… this was how we celebrated!
On this day, Kendall deserved a big reward. We had been promising to take her to pick out any toy she wanted from the store. I actually don’t think we could have gotten in the car fast enough, because I was so excited myself! Little brother tagged along too for his big sister’s shopping spree. I brought my camera along (Canon 5D Mark III) to document this milestone in our lives. I shot theseĀ with my 50mm 1.4 lens.
Aisle after aisle, we browsed the toys. She wanted this one and this one and this one and this one. We pushed all the buttons to see what they’d do.
There wasn’t a toy missed from her sight… including the kitties she stopped to hug on the bottom shelf.
Her patient little bro was in awe of all of the toys and colors too!
We lined up all of the toys she was considering. With all of these toys, how is a girl to choose? I told her she had to pick just one to take home.
And of all the toys in the store, my Kendall choseĀ a dump truck.
These photos were taken 4 months ago. The whole potty training thing is certainly a thing of the past as she is a pro. Now that I’m sitting here writing this story, I look at these photos and it seems like the day happened yesterday.
That’s documentary photography for you, a time portal back to your memories.
